Abstract

SINAF, dedicated to the attendance funeral until 2002, acquired an insurance company and started to act in the life insurance branch. In the first semester of 2003, the initial stage of the transition was accomplished, in other words, the rhythm of previous businesses was reached and the new level was compatible with the new business structure. However, besides the growth of the business due to the restructuring, it was necessary to think a way of enlarging scale with the new business.

Mestre e Doutorando em Administração de Empresas pela Instituto de Pós-graduação e Pesquisa em Administração (COPPEAD) da Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ). Professor da Assessoria de Estudos Prospectivos da Escola Superior de Guerra - ESG e professor convidado da UFRJ, IBMEC, FGV/RJ e da Escola de Comando e Estado-Maior do Exército - ECEME; co-autor do livro Gestão de Serviços e Marketing Interno, publicado pela Editora FGV; consultor de empresas e sócio-gerente da Horizontes Planejamento e Pesquisa Empresarial Ltda. Suas áreas de interesse em pesquisa são marketing, inteligência competitiva e estratégia.
